Working from home could be the solution for workers facing redundancy, according to Remote Employment.

The job site has launched the Remote Worker Awards to highlight how working from home and remote working benefits the environment and can improve people’s quality of life.

The awards come at a time when thousands of people across the UK are facing job losses or reduced hours.

Remote Employment co-founder Paula Wynne said the awards aim to raise awareness for remote and home working as an alternate solution to redundancy and the traditional nine to five office routine.

Improving skills is also an ideal way to increase job security in uncertain employment times.

Paula said anyone looking to re-train or re-skill following redundancy will be able to ease their way back into work with the Open University Skills Award and receive a brand new career.

With nine categories including winners will enjoy thousands of Pounds worth of prizes from a garden office, interior design, business starter kits and a mobile laptop to a fabulous luxury weekend at a von Essen hotel.

The Work From Home Award will give someone the chance to win a new career while one winner will walk away with their very own home based franchise worth 15k.

The Remote Worker Awards will feature the winners in a Remote Worker E-Book to help other companies to implement a flexible and remote working program.
