Correct! Written in 1997 by Mary Schmich.
Often erroneously attributed to a commencement speech by author Kurt Vonnegut. Both its subject and tone are similar to the 1927 poem "Desiderata".
The song is "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)"

Reading this kind of article at 42 makes me feel pretty good. I will forward it to all my 20-something friends, but also let them know that what they do should be what makes them feel good. People often take life and what is expected of them in it a little too seriously. I am becoming less quilty of this as time goes on. Priorities change. Life changes. I suppose you have to go through life as it comes and make the best of it you can. I also see this kind of article as words that one can follow at any age. One should never cease to learn and change. And love. Always love.
Thanks Julie.
