What's new this week

Hi

I hope you have had a chance to enjoy some of the wonderful sunshine we've been having. It's been a very busy month in the Women Unlimited camp. We're just in the process of recruiting a couple of interns to help out around here, so you will be seeing some changes in terms of the content coming up. Last week Women Unlimited won the runner up for the Women's Business Mastermind Award, held at the conference organised by Carmen MacDougall, last Friday. The day was fantastically inspriing with lots of great speakers. I was there Twittering the conference, and you can read some of the great snippets gleaned from the day here.

Well done to Mary Spiteri of Titfertat Hats for her upcoming feature in Women and Home magazine (the glossy mag mentioned in the last email). Thank you to everyone that responded. As a result of that fantastic response, we have decided to run a regular feature on the Women Unlimited website where we interview you, our readers and give you the opportunity to share your story. We will be sending out an email in a couple of weeks telling you more. We also have lots of workshops coming up at the British Library, and some great deals, so please have a look at the sidebar for more information.

All the best, Julie

But, entrepreneurs don’t suffer from a fear of failure; they suffer more often, in my experience, from a fear of success.

And this fear manifests itself in self-defeating behaviors such as failing to move in the direction of a true point of differentiation – to stand out and be noticed for being different than everyone else in their industry. ...read this article

This is a really inspiring video on many levels. Emily discovered that she had a creative mind and the ability to turn her ideas into reality in her grandfather's potting shed. She has gone from creating an idea for a science project to creating a solar powered fridge for African nations.

What Emily shows us is that age and experience are no barrier to innovation and creativity. Click here to watch this video
